I was going over Hamlet and was thinking about if Hamlet got what he wanted in the end? he got his revenge on Claudius but never actually became king because he died so i was just curious what you guys thought?
I don't think Hamlet ever really wanted to become King. After his father died Hamlet wanted to go back to school, but Claudius and Gertrude told him to stay home to learn to be a king so he could take over one day. Once he heard of his fathers true death all Hamlet wanted was revenge. I think becoming King never crossed his mind.
I think he was ready to become king even though he never actually was one. He acted much more like a king in the end of the play then when he did in the beginning.
