What was Claudius's motive in killing King Hamlets father ?
I know the obvious reason of Claudius wanting to become king but are there any other reasons?

It could be that Claudius was jealous of his brother. He got his throne and his wife and told young Hamlet that he should think of him as a father. It looks like Claudius was trying to live old Hamlet's life.

I think that Paul is right, maybe because Claudius is not married for whatever reason and he has no real power he wanted to take someone elses. I think that he actually loves Gertrude even though he says he married her for the kingdom.
