Grendel

So i've been reading Grendel and its some what interesting. There are many similarities between the book and Beowulf, obviously. However its intriguing to flip between the two books and have a double-play (phillies) perspective. It's actually quite the philisophical read as well, because the author puts man as one of the lower forms of intelligence in the world. Grendel's mother is an idiot, however the dragon knows 'everything'. Wonderfully deep. He recites verses which i have to go back and read 3-4 times before i can actually discern what he's talking about. For anyone not reading it i highly suggest getting it, i've had it for less than a week and i'm already about half way through. I guess the extra credit is cool, too.
